Book Review Herion Diaries Nikki Sixx
Hey folks,
I want to tell you about a book I just finished reading. Let me tell you a little background first. I am in my mid to late 30's. I grew up in the 80's listening to rock music. Bands like Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, and others were on top of the world! But one band was bigger, badder, louder, drunker, wilder, meaner, etc. etc, that was Motley Crue! I listened to every song, and every album, and seen them in concert one forth of July when they came through my area on Girls Girls Girls tour! Anyway during that tour the bands bassist and co-founder Nikki Sixx spent most of his days and nights messed up on heroin. Somehow between all the injections, touring, women, and more drugs, he managed to keep a pretty interesting journal of his thoughts. Well jump ahead 20 years later, Nikki is clean and sober and trying his best to be successful. If you call a number 2 book on the best sellers list and a number 2 song on the best played lists for radio successful, then I would say he is doing a good job! Nikki has made his journal into a book. A hard cover book with very graphical images of Nikki and members of Motley Crue. If you have listened to rock radio lately, you have heard the song Life is Beautiful by Sixx A.M. well that is one song off the 13 song sound track to the book Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx. This book is a very interesting read and I couldn't stop reading it from the moment I bought it until I closed the back cover! Great job Nikki! |
